Fireworks in the Vosges: the best festivities near Domaine des Bans
The Vosges is one of the most festive destinations in eastern France every summer. On the occasion of the national holiday and throughout the summer season, the department and its surrounding areas – Lorraine, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse – offer fireworks displays, balls, concerts and open-air entertainment in numerous communes: Gérardmer, Épinal, Remiremont, Vittel, Nancy, Metz and Senones. From the Domaine des Bans, a 4-star campsite in Corcieux in the heart of the Vosges mountains, we bring you an overview of the summer festivities not to be missed during your stay.

July 14th in the Vosges: a region that knows how to celebrate
The Fête Nationale is one of the highlights of the Vosges summer. In villages and towns alike, one event follows another: popular balls, concerts, dinner dances, parades and, of course, fireworks displays. The events often extend over several days, transforming every July weekend into a real event.
Gérardmer, Épinal, Remiremont: the department’s major events
The Gérardmer lake offers one of the most breathtaking backdrops for a fireworks display: the colors are reflected on the water, the sound spreads through the fir trees, and the atmosphere is just right every year. Just 15 minutes from the Domaine des Bans, it’s an outing not to be missed.
Épinal, the department’s prefecture, also organizes some great festivities around July 14th, with a program combining fireworks displays and entertainment for the whole family. Remiremont, nestling in the Moselle valley, offers a ball and fireworks display that attracts large numbers of visitors every year.
Other communes, such as Senones and Saint-Maurice, also liven up their local festivals **** with fireworks and open-air concerts. Don’t forget to check the calendar for the commune you’re interested in before your visit.
Beyond the Vosges: Nancy, Metz and Lorraine in the spotlight
For those wishing to broaden their outings, neighboring Lorraine has some wonderful surprises in store. Nancy, with its World Heritage-listed Place Stanislas, hosts a son et lumière show and fireworks display every July 14. Metz, on the banks of the Moselle, also offers a remarkable festive program. The Meurthe-et-Moselle region is more discreet, but just as welcoming, with a host of village festivities starting in mid-July.
